Rome picks a side: LGBT ‘pilgrimage’ welcomed, Latin Mass shut out
To oppose the traditional Mass is to oppose the Mass, and to oppose the Mass is to oppose the Catholic faith itself.

(LifeSiteNews) — Catholics who love the traditional Latin Mass (TLM) have now been forcefully shut out from St. Peter’s Basilica. Pro-sodomy “pilgrims” have been deliberately welcomed. All within the span of just a little over a year, under the helm of Pope Leo XIV.
A line has been drawn in the sand.
The latest move against traditional Catholicism from the Vatican is so remarkable because it is so concrete and clear, so shockingly aggressive, so indefensible — and because the battle lines have been drawn in the heart of Rome. After barring the annual Summorum Pontificum (now Ad Petri Sedem) pilgrimage from entering St. Peter’s Basilica to offer a traditional Latin Mass, the Vatican has physically blocked the pilgrims from entering even to merely pray at St. Peter’s tomb and offer Eucharistic adoration.
The banning of these Catholics from St. Peter’s is emblematic of the fact that, with the sanction of Pope Leo, the Vatican is outright opposed to traditional Catholicism — to the ancient, venerable, and holy Mass, which nourished the saints and was rubber-stamped by Pope Pius V with Quo Primum. By working in direct opposition to what is holy, the prelates of the Vatican have committed a diabolical act.
What makes this exclusion more remarkable is that this pilgrimage has been dubbed Ad Petri Sedem (“to Peter’s Seat”), showing the pilgrims’ devotion to the papacy. In stark contrast, the Vatican last year deliberately welcomed more than a thousand pro-LGBT Catholics through the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica, many accompanied by their same-sex “partners,” openly defying the teaching of Christ’s Church.

READ: Bishop Schneider: Latin Mass Catholics feel ‘second class’
The decision to turn away Catholics who desire to celebrate the TLM or merely offer prayers (and who are not even affiliated with the Society of St. Pius X) is akin to denying Christ entrance into His own Church. No one, not even the pope himself, can ban a traditional Mass or traditional Catholicism on any legitimate grounds. To oppose the traditional Mass is to oppose the Mass. To oppose the Mass is to oppose the Catholic faith itself.
It doesn’t matter if the Vatican embraces valid Novus Ordo Masses and otherwise permits various other kinds of Catholic prayers. If I support Christ with my left hand and oppose Him with my right hand, I am not acting neutrally or simply offering qualified support. I am against Him.
One cannot straddle a fence for very long. One cannot simultaneously support heterodoxy and truth. Those who oppose the fullness of the Catholic faith support error by that very action. And to clearly demonstrate that this is exactly what is happening under Leo, the Vatican has embraced pro-LGBT “pilgrims” into St. Peter’s Basilica while deeming traditional Catholics verboten. These are weighty actions, but they are also indicative of the overall direction of the Vatican under both Pope Francis and Pope Leo. The current pontiff has not been as flamboyantly heterodox as Francis was, but he has quietly, consistently promoted the same path for the Church.
Leo and his Vatican hierarchy have drawn a line in the sand, almost literally. A photo shared by journalist Edward Pentin shows the Ad Petri Sedem pilgrims blocked from walking past the obelisk of St. Peter’s by a tall barricade.

The conclusion is difficult, but it is staring us in the face: Rome — the Vatican — has lost the faith. We were warned of it repeatedly in prophecy because Our Lord understands it challenges the assumptions of many Catholics. The suppressed full Third Secret of Fatima warned of apostasy “from the top” of the Church. The prophecy of La Salette spoke of “two worm-ridden popes.” The late exorcist Father Malachi Martin warned in 1990 that “we may have to face finally a false pope.”
As the founding publisher of OnePeterFive, Steve Skojec, astutely observed, “the only reason Christ promised that the ‘gates of hell will not prevail’ against the Church is because He knew full well that they would appear to do precisely that. He wanted us to remember those words at the very moment when it would seem all but certain that His promises were empty, and that all was truly lost.”
Our Lady of La Salette specifically warned, “Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the antichrist.”[1]
Father David Nix has pointed out that at the time of the prophecy, “Rome” was synonymous with the Vatican. If the Vatican is to become the seat of the Antichrist, the traditional Latin Mass cannot grace the grounds of the Vatican with its presence during his reign.
The importance of the abolition of the TLM to the Antichrist’s one-world religion is demonstrated by the 1973 film Catholics, which portrays a future in which a group of monks are defying Rome by continuing to offer the Latin Mass publicly. The “Fourth Vatican Council” is in motion and the Church is now integrated into an “ecumenical brotherhood,” participating in the first “World Congress of Christian and Buddhist faiths.”
As I pointed out in a commentary on the film, it makes clear that at its core, the Latin Mass safeguards the very meaning of the Mass as the Sacrifice of Calvary made truly present, daily, in an unbloody manner. For that reason, it is impossible to reconcile the Latin Mass with a “new,” ecumenical conception of the Catholic faith, which could no longer be called Catholic. In other words, the Latin Mass is a bulwark of the Catholic faith and a threat to its subversion.
This is why the occupied Vatican is so afraid of the traditional Mass. Our response should be to carry on offering and assisting at this holy Mass undeterred, at peace knowing it is our sacred inheritance, and fired up knowing it is our greatest weapon.
